   Home      Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a common health problem in women. Endometriosis occurs when this tissue grows outside of the uterus on other organs or structures in the body. The most common symptoms of endometriosis are pain before and during periods, pain during or after sexual activity, infertility, and heavy bleeding. Other symptoms may include fatigue, painful bowel movements with periods, lower back pain with periods, and diarrhea and/or constipation and other intestinal upset with periods. Infertility affects about 30-40% of women with endometriosis and is a common result with progression of the disease.

Treatment options include medical management or surgery.  Medical management focuses on symptomatic relief.  For mild symptoms, NSAIDs like ibuprofen are used.  Oral contraceptive pills, aromatase inhibitors, danazol, and GnRH agonists are other medications, which may help prevent disease progression.  Surgery is often only a temporary measure, because endometriosis recurs in most women. Besides, the side effects with these drugs can be significant.

Traditional Chinese medicine offers an effective, time-tested approach treating endometriosis.

1. Alleviate pain by increasing circulation in the pelvic organs.

2. Control and shrink endometriosis, and eliminate growth and recurrence of endometriosis by utilizing Chinese herbs to break down congealed blood/blot clots and dissolve masses.

3. Enhance the immune and endocrine systems by stimulating the autonomic nervous system to help eliminate stray endometrial cells.

4. Relieve stress and correct disruptions in the flow of the body's energy, returning the body to good health.

5. Warm the uterus, restore renal and adrenal function to correct irregular cycles, help ovulation and enhance fertility.

6. Strengthen and balance general health and help the effectiveness of IVF.

7. Minimize undesired side effects and accumulated toxicity from medication and invasive procedures.

Traditional Chinese medicine for treating endometriosis is to achieve and to maintain the maximum uterine blood flow, and to reduce the overactive immune response - thus providing a "friendly" environment to achieve pregnancy and prevent miscarriages. More and more women are experiencing the benefits--not only either completely cured or significantly improved endometriosis, but also the ability to conceive and carry a healthy baby to full term.
